How easy it is to make an additctive game!

Back in 2011 when I was working as a web designer with my brother, we was also looking into creating a small game for the android app market. We decided for our first run we would create it in Flash or mainly Action Script 3 before we jumped straight in to native android.

Now most of the programming for the game actually took place behind the scenes in the code, I'm basically saying that for some games there is hardly no interaction with the front end except creating graphics.

We wanted something that would so simple and addictive that people would keep coming back and playing, what's more addictive trying to tap out lights that are appearing on your screen? Each time you shut one off you gain a point but they progressively light up faster, when the screen is fully lit you lose and score is placed on a score board.

The game in a short amount of time gained thousands of downloads and constant active installs, in fact if you look on the app website here you'll notice is has 50,000 to 100,000 installs. We also coded it to send a +1 to our database when someone played a game and that has reached well over 1,000,000. I also went the extra mile and created a small website for people to view the leader board.
