Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera

Blackmagic Designs has since announced quite a curious product named 'Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera' it boasts that you can get cinema like quality in a small hand held camera that resembles a simple digital camera.

For a while there was no footage and finally when the first released, it was safe to say I will definitely be getting one of these and replacing my 500D. It it's digital and it has 13 stops of dynamic where as the 500D has 7. It records in full 1080p in prores and it rumoured to be able to record RAW footage for better post editing.

It uses SD cards for storage but is only compatible with 3/4 lenses, this means if you have a standard DSLR you are most likely going to have to re-stock your lenses. Micro 3/4 lenses usually start from around £75 at low end and can go very high into the £1000's.
